
The cranes and specialist lifting is an NVQ level 2 qualification which falls under the group of lifting operations. The qualification structure below specifies the combination of units that are needed to be achieved for the individual to be awarded the qualification. The NVQ covers a variety of category’s under CPCS and NPORS.
CPCS/NPORS Red to Blue


On completion of your NVQ qualification, along with passing the relevant CITB HS&E test (within the last 2 years), you will be able to apply for the blue competent operator card.

The structure of this qualification is built up using mandatory units and optional units, The two mandatory units must be completed alongside one optional unit to achieve the credit values to attain this qualification.

Evidence Required
Evidence will be gained using a method of assessments. The assessor will carry out site visits to aid with gaining evidence around the national occupational standards. The mandatory evidence required is a knowledge based session one on one with the assessor. Professional discussion around previous experiences and job role specifics. Direct observation of the item of plant being operated. Witness statement from a suitable competent person. All evidence gained is assessed around the national occupational working standards.
