This course is aimed at candidates that require the knowledge and practical skills operate to operate a Concrete Pump safely and efficiently.

Entry Requirements
- NPORS CSCS – Candidates must have achieved the relevant CITB Health, Safety &.
- Environment (HS&E) touch-screen-test within 2 years.
- Good understanding of spoken and written English.
Course Content
- Understand the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator.
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used.
- Locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions.
- Locate and identify key controls and explain their functions.
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer and legislative requirements.
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for concrete pump use.
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area.
- Prepare the concrete pump for use and operate machinery safely and efficiently.
- Complete safe un-blocking and re-connecting procedures.
- Prepare the concrete pump for cleaning and carry out cleaning tasks safely and efficiently.
- Understand environmental considerations.
Assessment
Novice – Five (5) Days – Classroom-based and Practical Training and testing
Experienced Worker Tests – One (1) Day – Theory and Practical Tests
Certification
Successful candidates will be issued with an NPORS Traditional Operator card (valid for 5 years) or an NPORS Red Trained Operator card (valid for 2 years).

Next Steps
- NPORS Traditional Card – There are no requirements to complete an NVQ, a five year card is issued and after five years reassessment is required.
- To upgrade your card to Blue, you will need to complete the Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations – Transporting Loads and an Operatives Health, Safety and Environment Test completed within the last 2 years.
- Store and transport implements and attachments.
- Carry out end of shift and shut down procedures.
