Accredited First Aid at Work Training for Workplace First Aiders
Our First Aid at Work (FAW) Course is designed for nominated workplace first aiders and anyone looking to gain comprehensive first aid knowledge and practical life-saving skills. This intensive 3-day training programme provides the confidence and competence needed to respond effectively to workplace emergencies and medical incidents.
Upon successful completion, learners will receive a First Aid at Work Certificate, valid for three years.

Entry Requirements
To attend this course, learners must:
- Have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
- Be able to participate in practical training activities and assessments.
No previous first aid experience is required.
What You Will Learn
Course Content Includes:
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a workplace first aider
- Assessing and prioritising first aid incidents
- Managing an unconscious casualty
- Performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Understanding the Chain of Survival and AED safety procedures
- Controlling severe bleeding and managing shock
- Treating wounds and minor injuries
- Managing fractures, sprains, strains and joint injuries
- Treating burns and scalds
- Providing first aid for eye injuries
- Responding to poisoning incidents
- Treating casualties affected by fumes and hazardous substances
- Recognising and responding to common illnesses and medical emergencies
- Maintaining accurate first aid records
- Using, inspecting and maintaining workplace first aid kits
Assessment
Assessment is carried out throughout the course using practical observations, demonstrations and knowledge-based assessment activities.
To achieve certification, learners must:
- Attend all three training days (24 hours)
- Successfully complete the end-of-course assessment
- Demonstrate the required practical first aid skills
Certification
Successful learners will receive a First Aid at Work (FAW) Certificate, valid for three years.
This qualification demonstrates competence in providing emergency first aid and managing workplace incidents until professional medical assistance arrives.
